I grew up as a man in a heteronormative, white, privileged and highly educated family. From an early age, justice was paramount in my daily life choices. For years I was active in various social movements and social organisations. My gaze was outwardly all these years. But far too little inside. The more aware I became of all the problems in the big world, the more blind I became to my own problems and those of my loved ones. I hit rock bottom. In my quest for change, intimacy played a crucial role. Gradually I opened my eyes to my blind spots and dark sides which in turn paved the way for a wiser, happier and better version of myself.

This multiple spiritual, professional and relational crisis was the entry point for a renewed commitment as an intimacy activist and professional reorientation as an intimacy coach. As part of this transformation process I changed my name Pieter (Baets) to a new name Piero Flor. Piero symbolizes inner and personal change, Flor for a spiritual and universal change.
